AWS Fundamentals

Every modern web application uses public or private cloud technologies, but it’s near impossible to keep up on what tools are available. Browse Amazon’s AWS products and you’ll find over 165 services spread across 23 categories. How do you get started?

Course Content

In this 12-hour course, developers will gain an understanding of the structures and practice the usage of the most essential services:

  • Asset storage and latency reduction with S3 (Simple Storage Service) and CloudFront
  • Hosting applications on Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) with Load Balancing
  • Ensuring robust availability with Elastic Beanstalk and Autoscaling
  • Managed database services from Relational Database Service (RDS)
  • Automating deployment processes with Code Pipeline
  • Executing "serverless" code with Lambda
  • Building quick applications using the API Gateway
  • Using DynamoDB for serverless key-value data storage and retrieval

Like all Turing courses, participants will be programming and building projects as much as possible -- not just listening and looking at slides. Every class session you’ll have something new to experiment with and learn about.
